How To Choose Your Demographic

Not Sure Which Demographic to Choose? Here’s How to Decide

Choosing the right demographic is important—especially when it comes to interpreting your health insights and optimizing your treatment. Different life stages (like pregnancy or menopause) influence your hormone levels, nutritional needs, and how we interpret biomarkers. Here’s a quick guide to help you choose the option that best fits your current state:

1. Female Perimenopausal (Non-Pregnant)

  • You still get periods, but they’re irregular, heavier/lighter, or accompanied by new symptoms (like hot flashes, sleep issues, or mood changes).
  • You’re typically between your late 30s and early 50s.
  • You are not currently pregnant.

This is the transitional stage before menopause when hormone levels begin to shift.

2. Female Perimenopausal (Pregnant)

  • You meet the signs of perimenopause (above), and
  • You are currently pregnant.

3. Female (Non-Pregnant)

  • You’re menstruating regularly or using hormonal contraception (like the pill, patch, ring, or IUD), and
  • You are not currently pregnant.

This includes most premenopausal women who aren’t showing signs of the transition to menopause.

4. Female (Pregnant)

  • You are currently pregnant and
  • Not yet in perimenopause (typically under 40 and not having menopause-like symptoms).

5. Female Post-Menopausal

  • It’s been 12 months or more since your last period,
  • You’re typically over 50 (but can be younger, especially after surgical menopause),
  • You are not pregnant.

Hormone levels stabilize in a new pattern after menopause, and we interpret labs differently in this group.

6. Male

  • You identify as male and your biology is aligned with male hormone patterns.
