The Enov.one Team
Introduction
Our mission at enov.one is to rescue 1 billion patients from the limits of standard care… because everyone deserves their own health algorithm.
As patients failed by the standard-of-care healthcare system, each of us deeply understands suffering and the extreme asymmetries in patient care. The best doctors are often inaccessible: too hard to find, too expensive, and too busy. We were fortunate enough to find the resources to solve our health challenges (e.g. access to leading-edge doctors, biomedical research backgrounds, early-access to new health technologies, money to pay for expensive diagnostics and visit fees, time for sick-leaves to figure it out, etc.). Most are not.
We realized that if we could translate the protocols of top doctors via telehealth, then we could enable millions of patients to have affordable access to the world’s best care.
Ultimately, we learned a secret. Great doctors treat endophenotypes (root-causes), not symptoms. This often requires the evaluation of millions of data points, including medical history, clinical signs and symptoms, blood labs, genetics, microbiome data, and wearables.
By developing a platform to deliver endophenotypic care and tracking patient outcomes, we see a world where our learning models will eventually exceed the best human intelligence.

From Touring with Rock-and-Roll Legends to Revolutionizing Health
At an early age, I found myself stuck with a puzzling question: why are some of the richest and most famous people in the world still miserable? Growing up touring with iconic bands and artists like Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, and the Rolling Stones, I witnessed firsthand the pervasive depression, toxicity, and addiction that plagued even those who seemingly had it all. These individuals, who should have been the epitome of happiness, were struggling deeply.
The answer to my question became clear: beyond loving relationships and money, health is our most important asset. This realization drove me to pursue deeper insights into mental health and well-being.
While at Stanford, I conducted some of the most comprehensive biological profiling studies in mental health research. My work in this area demonstrated depression outcomes that outperformed the standard of care—antidepressants and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)—by an astounding 140%. This groundbreaking research highlighted the potential of personalized health protocols in achieving superior mental health outcomes.
However, my journey was not without its challenges. Just a week before my daughter, Lila, was due to be born, I found myself extremely burned out. Despite using various techniques to push through each day, I would wake up every morning feeling terrible. Determined to find a solution, I began tracking 147 variables daily and worked closely with the top doctors on Enovone’s medical team. Through this meticulous approach, I discovered the root-cause biology (endophenotype) underlying my burnout: cerebral insulin resistance.
Remarkably, within two weeks of starting my personalized health protocol, the symptoms I had endured for decades disappeared. For the first time in as long as I could remember, I woke up in the morning feeling refreshed and revitalized.
This transformative experience led me to a profound realization: millions of people suffering today lack access to the support and resources I had. However, I saw an opportunity to change this using technology. By leveraging new technology, I envisioned a future where everyone could access precision health. What took me decades to discover, and cost over $100,000 in tests, doctor visits, and ineffective treatments, could now be made available to anyone in seconds and at a low cost.
With this vision in mind, I co-founded Enovone with a mission to rescue one billion patients from the limitations of standard care. I firmly believe that everyone deserves their algorithm for health, tailored to their unique biological blueprint and life circumstances. Through Enovone, I aim to democratize access to precision health, empowering individuals to take control of their well-being and achieve optimal health.

From Struggling to Thriving with Precision Health
I have always been active and health-conscious, yet I faced persistent struggles with my weight and overall health. My journey toward optimal well-being has been marked by significant discoveries and transformations, ultimately leading me to co-found Enovone and advocate for precision health.
In my late 20s, I began experiencing digestive issues and severe menstrual symptoms. Despite my efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle, these problems persisted until I found a functionalist who diagnosed me with a gluten allergy. This revelation prompted me to eliminate gluten from my diet, leading to an initial improvement in my health.
However, my health took a downturn in my late 30s when I reintroduced gluten back into my diet and found myself in a toxic relationship. I experienced increased weight gain, brain fog, and a general decline in my well-being. My concerns were dismissed by my primary care physician as typical signs of aging, leaving me frustrated, gaslit, and seeking answers.
Fortunately, a naturopath friend provided free care, including comprehensive blood work, which revealed that I had hypothyroidism, specifically Hashimoto’s disease. With a proper diagnosis, I began a thyroid treatment protocol and supplements, which significantly improved my health and helped me regain control over my well-being.
In my mid-40s, I explored bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) to further enhance my quality of life. Under the guidance of a psychiatrist who also practiced functional medicine, I began BHRT and noticed substantial improvements in my energy levels and cognitive function.
Now, as I approach 50, I feel more vibrant and youthful than ever. My current health regimen includes multiple thyroid medications, a range of supplements known as an entourage stack, and bioidentical hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone) following the Wiley Protocol. I credit this comprehensive treatment plan for my excellent health and vitality.
I describe myself as being in the best health of my life, thriving on my personalized treatment plan. My journey underscores the importance of addressing underlying health issues with precision and individualized care, inspiring me to help others achieve their own health transformations through Enovone.

The Control Group
Any scientifically valid experiment needs a control group, a standard to which comparisons are made, and I’m enov.one’s. From the encyclopedia definition: “Ideally, the control and experimental groups are identical in every way except that the experimental groups are subjected to interventions, while the control group is not”.
That tracks. On the one hand, my co-founders and I match each other’s dogged determination to accelerate the advent of precision health. Then again, we couldn’t be more different in other ways.
I can’t remember the last time I visited a doctor. I’ve never taken a blood test or self-injected. I only recently took my first DNA test, being hesitant to trust a company with the most personal of my biodata. That only changed when the company testing was my own.
What else? For one, I’m deeply European. Free healthcare has always been my baseline. Born to a Greek mother and Austrian father, I’ve straddled divergent perspectives and habits from an early age. Experience soon taught me that I was at my healthiest and happiest during summers spent on Greek islands, not in rainy gray Scotland where I achieved my Artificial Intelligence degree. Staying fit and happy felt effortless surrounded by warm people and climate, close to the sea and with access to the freshest produce.
That motivated me to start my career in the Mediterranean, landing my first job in Barcelona. The next 20 years saw me honing my skills on every aspect of delivering successful digital products and services: as a designer, developer, team lead, strategist and finally CEO.
Then, as for many others, COVID became a turning point. I took on the role of Chief Strategy Officer for a US agency, which for the first time exposed me to both health-tech and the US market. I was hooked- all the fun I already knew building amazing experiences, but this time with the added purpose of keeping people healthy.
Which brings us back to the most important feature that unites us as co-founders- a deep conviction to do our part in making healthcare that little bit better.

From Confusion to Clarity with Precision Health
I was an honor roll student who often found myself puzzled by my fluctuating academic performance. On some days, I could answer every question correctly with ease, while on other days, despite equal preparation, I struggled to get any answers right. This inconsistency was both confusing and frustrating, and I sought help from doctors and psychiatrists. Unfortunately, my concerns were often dismissed, leaving me without answers or solutions.
Determined to find the root cause of my issue, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery through n=1 data collection. I meticulously tracked various factors in my daily life and soon discovered a significant correlation: the content of my meals was influencing my cognitive performance. This revelation sparked an obsession with understanding how biology influences psychology.
Further investigation led me to undergo a DNA test, where I tested high for hypomethylation. Hypomethylation, a condition where there is a lack of proper methylation in the DNA, can significantly impact mental health. Upon addressing this issue with targeted treatments, I experienced a profound improvement in my mental well-being. The impact was so significant that it transformed my approach to health and wellness.
Motivated by my own journey, I dedicated myself to helping others who might be facing similar challenges. I realized that many people suffer needlessly because their underlying biological issues are not identified or treated correctly. To make a broader impact, I focused on improving doctors’ data analysis capabilities, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to uncover the root causes of their patients’ symptoms.
As a co-founding team member of Enovone, I bring my passion and personal experience to the forefront, working to integrate precision health into mainstream medical practice. My story is a testament to the power of personalized medicine and the potential it has to transform lives by addressing the unique biological needs of each individual. Through my work, I aim to empower others with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve optimal health and mental clarity.
Dr. Rob Krochmal
Life has many silver linings. One of them for me is that a big reason why I am blessed to practice integrative medicine today is because of my own personal health journey. The struggles I have faced with my own health have forced me to look for solutions outside of conventional Western Medicine. As with many other physicians who have made the decision to shift their practice to Integrative Medicine, this personal experience has given me first hand insights into the power of a holistic approach to healing.
Before I was 1 year old, I had already been sick with respiratory or ear infections multiple times and had been given many rounds of antibiotics. This led to me being prescribed “prophylactic” antibiotics for the next few years- in other words, antibiotics every day just to prevent me from continuing to get sick over and over. I am grateful for antibiotics but in hindsight I believe that this might have been avoided if the root cause of why I kept getting sick was found. In my case, I believe it was gluten and dairy sensitivity, which caused inflammation in my respiratory tract and digestive system, and a strained and weakened immune system, further weakened (in the long run at least) by the chronic antibiotics. Being born in the early 1970s, in peak of an era with increasing reliance on processed foods was not helpful, particularly in regards to the dairy and wheat-based baby formula and cereals. Since then, although newer and even more serious problems in our systemic food system have emerged (GMO Foods and increasing reliance on toxic chemicals, the collapse of our nation’s topsoil, etc.), at least the importance of breast feeding is more broadly recognized.
In any case, despite the antibiotics, I did manage to continue getting sick. In fact, I was getting sick so often that I had to reschedule 3-4 surgery dates to remove my enlarged tonsils. More than a week after I had finally completed my surgery, I was still not recovering. I remember lying on the couch listening to my neighbors playing outside and wishing I could get up to join the fun, when I leaned over and threw up onto the living room rug a mix of blood and pus. Needless to say, this freaked out my mom, who, before driving me back to the hospital, called my grandfather the doctor, giving him his first ever panic attack over a medical situation.
So obviously I survived and it turned out that was the last hurrah of the revolving door of infections for which I was to finally get a hiatus as I was heading into age 6. I had a peritonsillar abscess that grew and burst. Unfortunately, though, I received a blood transfusion during this hospitalization, another blow to my immune system which was an additional factor in the almost inevitable development of future auto-immune problems.
After that, I was a relatively normal, happy, active kid. In high school though, despite being a great student and athlete and even managing to graduate as valedictorian, I was tired a lot. Although I LOVED my Anatomy and Physiology course (budding doctor!), it had the unfortunate timing of being right after lunch, and almost every day after eating either a big doughy piece of thick and yeasty cafeteria pizza, or a burger with a chewy white bun, I would not be able to keep my eyes open. I am not sure if it was more painful to be that tired, or how bad I felt about hurting my teacher’s feelings who was putting so much passion into his class. I kept explaining that I really was NOT bored!
Unfortunately, this level of fatigue carried through college with me, as well as a couple years abroad teaching and working and traveling mostly in Latin America, as well as in medical school. One of my very close friends and trusty travel companions never fails to crack me up when describing our bus rides in the Andes Mountains, with the endless hairpin turns and frequent potholes causing heads to hit the roof, not to mention squawking chickens and other non human passengers to get some air time too. Whenever we would get to our destination, sometimes 8-10 hours later, I would wake up dreamily from a deep dead sleep, while everyone else would stagger off the bus ashen faced and nauseated.
Talk about adrenal fatigue! I needed to nap all the time.
What I also managed to pick up in Latin America- Peru to be exact- were a couple of intestinal parasites. Unfortunately when I finally visited a doctor in Peru, I was diagnosed with just simple diarrhea and given a bottle of Kaopectate. Not much changed for the year that I worked as a teaching intern. Again in hindsight, I believe it was my weakened gut (from the history of antibiotics and from ongoing gluten sensitivity) combined with already blown out adrenals, that made me more susceptible to picking up the parasites.
Having the parasites really pushed me over the edge, leading to even more fatigue and gut symptoms which can still plague me to this day if I am not careful. But it has also helped me learn a lot, trying so many approaches, both Western and holistic, in order to heal myself. I did every diet I knew of, for significant periods of time- months to years, including being vegetarian and vegan. I tried probiotics. I tried many other herbs and supplements. My initial attempts in integrative, holistic approaches were pretty much failures. But there were hints and clues along the way and eventually a combination of antibiotics (ironically, given that was what hurt my microbiome originally as an infant) and the right nutrition and supplements have helped me manage my symptoms more than ever.
So yes, pharmaceutical medicines have been a part of my recovery. I am a Western trained physician, after all! But when I kept not being fully well, I had to dig deeper. About 10 years ago, I FINALLY realized I needed to be gluten free. I also got on vitamins. Particularly, robust doses of Vitamin D, which significantly helped decrease my allergies and inflammation and aches and pains. I worked on my sleep and adrenals. I got into yoga.
I go to farmers markets and am grateful for foods grown on organic, regenerative farms. I am still a work in progress. I still sleep a lot but at least it is at night and almost never during the day or on bumpy bus rides anymore. There’s more to the story as well of course. I don’t feel perfect but I feel better in most ways, getting close to age 50, than I did in my 20s and 30s when I was still suffering.
And I became an Integrative Physician because of it all. That’s what I am most thankful for, having self witnessed the body’s potential to heal when given the chance. My goal each day in the clinic is to give my patients hope and to help them discover their path to wellness more quickly than the many decades it has taken me!

From Aspiring Athlete to Precision Health Advocate
Growing up, I was always a big kid who never quite fit the traditional mold of ‘healthy,’ yet I was an athlete through and through. My passion and talent for sports saw me become a high-level traveling hockey player, with dreams of playing in college. However, these aspirations were threatened when I was told that my size was a barrier to achieving my goals unless I took control of my health.
Crushed by this news, I resolved to make it no matter what. Through sheer force of will and incredibly hard work, I overcame my health challenges and achieved my dream of playing college hockey. My dedication and perseverance paid off, allowing me to enjoy a period of good health and athletic success.
After graduating, I continued to lead a healthy lifestyle and eventually met my now-wife, Mackenzie. Together, we started a family, but it wasn’t long before my health began to decline. I found myself slipping back into unhealthy habits, which prompted a renewed commitment to my well-being.
Determined to regain my health, I became obsessed with longevity, metabolic health, and precision medicine. This journey was not just about improving my own health but also about helping others avoid the same pitfalls I had faced. My new mission became clear: to democratize access to health insights and make precision medicine available to the masses.
As a team member of Enovone, I am dedicated to leveraging my personal experiences to help others achieve optimal health. My passion for precision health is driven by a desire to ensure that no one has to struggle with their health in the way I did. My journey from a young athlete facing health challenges to a precision health advocate is just one example of my commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
