Vaginal estrogen cream is generally well-tolerated, but some women may experience mild irritation, itching, or discharge at the site of application, especially during the first few weeks. Occasional breast tenderness, spotting, or bloating can also occur as the body adjusts to the hormone. These symptoms often improve with consistent use. If irritation persists or side effects become bothersome, adjusting the dosage or frequency—and consulting with a clinician—can usually resolve the issue.
